Chapter 15
Engr. Abul KM Shamsuddin attended 6-months long specialized training course on “Petroleum Management” at Arthur D Little Management Educational Institute (ADLMEI), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA from June 1986 to November 1986.
- A seven-member team from Petrobangla consisting (a) Abul KM Shamsuddin (myself), the then CEO, Sylhet Gas Fields Ltd; (b) Janab Shamsuddin Ahmed, the then General Manager, Titas Gas; (c) Janab Shafiul Alam, the then Chief Engineer, CNG Pilot Project; (d) Kh. Mominul Haque, the then General Manager, Bakhrabad Gas; (e) Janab Alauddin Ahmed, the then Dy. General Manager, Bakhrabad Gas; (f) Mr. Abdul Baset, the then Dy. Gen Manager, BGFCL; and (h) Mr. Khurshidul Hasan, the then Manager, Titas Gas attended the course, which was funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
- A total no of 20 participants from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Abu-Dhabi, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Phillipines, China, Bolivia, Columbia, Argentina and Ghana undertook the course. One month field trip to the various oil & gas establishments in the western coast of USA was made while five months academic courses were conducted in the eastern coast covering Boston, Harvard, and MIT. It was a very useful and practical oriented course on Petroleum Management.
- Some pictures on field works & touristic spots have been appended. While I recall the sweet memories of the study at this time – I also deeply mourn the death of my four Petrobangla colleague, namely Alauddin bhai, Shafiul Alam Bhai, Kh. Mominul Huq and Abdul Baset.
